Project goals
The research Centre of rail vehicles will integrate and coordinate cooperation of top specialists from different scientific areas of two universities and two research organizations focusing on area of rail vehicles.The project goal is research of material properties and their application in rail vehicles design, research of strength, life expactancy and passive safety of rail vehicles.Further it will be research of airflow and aerodynamics, research of noice and vibrations, research of dynamics, safe service of rail vehicles, research of brakes, profiles and new trends of rail vehicles design.

Výzkumné centrum kolejových vozidel bude integrovat a koordinovat spolupráci špičkových odborníků z různých vědních oblastí dvou univerzit a dvou výzkumných organizací se zaměřením na oblast kolejových vozidel.Cílem projektu je výzkum vlastností materiálů a jejich aplikací při stavbě kolejových vozidel, výzkum pevnosti, provozní životnosti a pasivní bezpečnosti kolejových vozidel.Dále výzkum proudění a aerodynamiky , výzkum hluku a vibrací, výzkum dynamiky, bezpečného provozu kolejových vozidel, výzkumbrzd, výzkum obrysů a výzkum nových trendů konstrukcí kolejových vozidel.

VCKV, project MŠMT 1M0519, was formed of ZCU in Pilsen, Pardubice University, VZÚ Plzeň, and VÚKV Praha. Industrial partners were the companies: ŠKODA TRANSPORTATION, Bonatrans a CZ LOKO Research work related to the wide field of specialized issues of material properties and their application in rail vehicles, dynamic strenght, safety, flow, aerodynamics, noise, adhesion and new designs.
