"The Chemical Fellows for UCT Prague project enabled the research mobilities of four outstanding young researchers, whose projects were highly rated in the European Commission's MSCA-IF call, but did not receive funding due to limited resources in Horizon 2020. Among the mobility topics were, for example: development of statin drug delivery systems for bone regeneration and the treatment of bone diseases; combined toxicity of microplastic fibres and silver nanoparticles in freshwater and terrestrial systems; plant secondary metabolites and microbial degradation of structurally related xenobiotics; mechanisms of fungal effector translocation into plant cells."
