Collaboration of the Czech Republic with CERN
Project goals
As the document ?European strategy for particle physics? beautifully summarized we have the best of times in particle physics before us - the years in which questions concerning properties and forces governing the ultimate constituents of matter and concerning development of the Universe will probably be for the most part answered at CERN. The aim of the project is therefore: First to make possible for scientists and technicians from four Czech institutions to participate in research activities and results from a new generation of two CERN experiments (ALICE and TOTEM) on the Large Hadron Collider - the most complex instrument ever constructed, from four experiments on CERN accelerator PS, as well as from broad CERN theoretical and astroparticle research programmes. Secondly, the project will enable Czech researches to take part in the development of high-technologies at CERN. Finally the involvement of Czech university students in research activities is also planned as an important part of the colla

Project results evaluation
The targets of the project have been solved successfully during the given period 2008-2012. Above all, since the experimental equipments on the LHC collider have been operating very effectively and steadily since the year 2010, we have obtained a huge statistics of unique experimental data. The incresing amount of obtained results is analysed and published in high-prestige scientific journals.
