Center for materials analysis
Project goals
The main goal of the project will be a top expert analysis and preparation of new materials for a wide range of applications. In addition to the traditional cooperation with research institutes and universities in the field of physics, with technical-industrial sector, the project will focus on the much-needed cooperation of physicists and material engineering with medical and biological centers. There will be a significant synergistic effect that will allow advancing fundamentally the applicability of modern diagnostic and therapeutic methods.

Project results evaluation
The CENAM project was focused on research of nanostructured functional materials. In the frame of the project, there were published totally about 154 publications in impacted journals and 6 patents in the following fields: (i) Scintillators and luminophores and their applications (eg for medical imaging, industrial defectoscopy, security and protection of civil population against terrorism or in science itself as high energy physics - CERN), (ii) diamond layers and structures for applications in photovoltaics, power engineering, biology and anti-corrosion coatings of Zr alloys in nuclear power engineering, (iii) functional technical materials based on shape memory alloys such as NiMnGA and NiTi, (iv) biological and organic materials, where we applied physical procedures (eg topographic AFM measurements on living cells followed by mathematical simulations), (iv) plasma technologies for the preparation of nanostructured thin films for electronics, spintronics, optics and sensorics.
