Project goals
"The Centre is predominantly focused on transport reseach: transport infrastructure and the environment, road safety and traffic engineering, human factor in transport and transport modelling . The project aims to provide long-term sustainability and development of the infrastructure of the Centre, development of human resources potnetial, and improvement of the Centre's role on international scale. The submitted project deals with the long-term support of the Centre and development of its activities leading to a high amount of financial independence. CDV’s mission is to perform research and development in specific transport areas, provide professional and independent expertise and service support for ministries (particularly of transport, the interior, the environment), regional, local and municipal bodies of state administration for their strategic tactical decision-making process, and to be a tool and support for transfer of technologies to commercial entities with the aim to increase their competitiveness in domestic as well as European scale. Furthermore, to represent transport resort in international organizations and be active in the field of education.

"Hlavním zaměřením Centra je dopravní výzkum: dopravní infrastruktury a životního prostředí , bezpečnosti a dopravního inženýrství, lidského faktoru v dopravě a dopravního modelování. Cílem projektu je dlouhodobá udržitelnost a rozvoj výzkumné infrastruktury Centra, rozvoj lidského výzkumného potenciálu a posilování role Centra v mezinárodním měřítku. Předmětem předloženého projektu je podpora dlouhodobé udržitelnosti Centra a jeho rozvoj v jeho aktivitách vedoucí k jeho postupné vysoké míře finanční soběstačnosti. Posláním je uskutečňovat výzkumnou a vývojovou činnost ve specifikovaných oblastech dopravy, poskytovat odborně nezávislou expertní a servisní podporu pro ministerstva (zejména dopravy, vnitra, životního prostředí), krajské, městské a obecní orgány státní správy a samosprávy pro jejich strategické taktické rozhodování i být oporou a nástrojem transferu technologií komerčním subjektům s cílem posílit jejich konkurenceschopnost v domácím i evropském měřítku. Dále zastupovat resort dopravy v mezinárodních organizacích a být aktivní i na poli vzdělávacím.

The Centre covers the key needs of tpt. devel. in the CZE according to its focus. It deals with the key areas such as road safety, technology of construction, maintenance, repair, reconstr. of tpt. infrastructure etc. It also addresses the impacts of tpt., its infrastructure on the environment, tpt. economics, multimodal tpt., tpt. psychology, tpt. education, tpt. demand modelling, management systems etc. The Center is focused on smart mobility, new technologies, such as autonomous tpt. systems. It applies the outputs of the research in practice, participates in the devel. of national strategic documents. The Centre possess a high expertise. The Centre is significantly involved in international research coop. It is recognized by many intern. institutions, is an active member of well-known intern. associations. The results of the work of the centre’s scientists are published in prestigious world magazines, presented at the international conferences. The Centre holds two European awards.
