PALETA - Implementation of the NATO 463L pallet system into Mi-171Š helicopters
Project goals
The aim of the project is to develop components which are necessary for effective loading and handling of the pallets 463L (TYPE II HCU-12 / E) on the board of helicopter Mi-171Sh. Specifically: roller track, system of the fixation of the pallets on the roller track, system for movement of pallets on the board of the helicopter, supporting system for the folding ramps of the helicopter, pallet truck which has an ability to transport the pallets at the airports area and put it on the ramp of the helicopter. All this developed components will be put to the test at the end of production phase. The test will be conducted as joint test which will incorporate company test, inspecting test and military test. The tests will go on at the same time. Developed components will be equipped by the adequate structural and operational documentation.

Annotation in Czech
Vyvinuté komponenty podrobit spojeným podnikovým a kontrolním zkouškám a vojskovým zkouškám a vybavit odpovídající konstrukční a provozní dokumentací.

Project results evaluation
The project of the PALETA prototype were succeeded according to the assignment - as part of the development, a pallet system was designed, enabling the loading, transport, and unloading of 463L TYPE II HCU-12 / E air pallets to and from the Mi-171Š helicopter. Prototype production documentation was prepared, through which prototypes of roller tracks were made, a system for fixing pallets on the roller track, a system for guiding pallets along the ramp and cargo part of the helicopter and a support system for the tilting ramp. As an integral part of the solution, a prototype of a self-propelled pallet truck and the "Weight and Balance Manual" software of the PALETA prototype were developed and manufactured. The parameters of the PALETA prototype were verified with a positive result by Joint Company and Control Tests and within the Military Tests. The achieved results create a premise for subsequent application in other ACR helicopters.
