V současné době jsou stále více využívány zařízení (senzory, čipy apod.) umožňující rychlé zjišťování velkého počtu sekvencí nukleotidů v DNA i RNA, založené na optických metodách. Záměren projektu je doplnit optickou detekci, výhodnější a levnější detekcí elektrochemickou.
