Exploitation of already developed DNA marker technology for legal certification of four "in-preparation" new czech cultivars of Begonia TBH
Project goals
This project is of "directed research" nature and its main output consists in the registration and market legal protection in Czech Republic and in European Union of 4 new original czech cultivars of Begonia tuberhybrida characterised using DNA descriptors. Sempra Praha Inc. expressed in written letter (enclosed) its commercial interest in exploitation of project output. Herein proposed directed research project will combine already established methods and knowledge-body of DNA markers technology on thesite of main proposer (Group of Molecular Biodiversity in IPMB AS CR) coming from basic research in architecture and dynamics of polymorphic regions of plant genome related to DNA markers with long-term plant breeding knowledge-body of co-proposer (Sempra Flora Ltd., Holice v Čechách), who possesses high-quality breeding material ready after genetic stabilization and DUS testing to cultivar registration.

Předmětem řešení tohoto projektu je cílený výzkum vedoucí k registraci 4 nových českých odrůd Begonia TBH charakterizovaných DNA deskriptory pro mezinárodní právní ochranu. Konkrétním odběratelem a uživatelem výsledků projektu v oblasti zemědělství budeSempra Praha a.s., jejíž písemné vyjádření zájmu o výsledky projektu je přiloženo k tomuto návrhu projektu.
