Overvoltages in Medium Voltage Networks
Project goals
Development of new methodologies and improvements of current methods for minimizing overvoltages in medium voltage networks. Also, the reduction of effects of higher harmonics arising from the use of renewable power sources. Proper configuration of technical parameters for new voltage arresters to be suitably sized and designed during the construction of individual high voltage devices. Project will be solved in high voltage laboratories of the Department of Electric Power Engineering and EnvironmentalEngineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Czech Republic in cooperation with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Professorship of Power Systems and High-Voltage Engineering, Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany.
