Traceable measurement of mechanical properties of nano-objects

  • Annotation in Czech

The JRP aims to develop metrological traceability for the measurement of the mechanical properties (adhesion, stiffness and elasticity) of nano-objects, such as nanoparticles, nanowires, nanoscale structures and composite materials. Forces from 10 mN down to 10 pN will be applied on objects with sizes down to 50 nm.

  • Project results evaluation

Project focused on development of methodology for spatially resolved measurements on small forces and mechanical properties using Nanoindentation and Atomic Force Microscopy. CMI developed numerical tools for uncertainty analysis related to local surface roughness and related sample deformation during indentation.
