The mission of the AI4DI project is to "Make the Europe the leader in Silicon-born-AI for accelerated edge processing". This means to do bring AI from the cloud to the edge, while making it AI resilient, safe & secure for the manufacturing and process technology of the future. From Produciton to Economic valorization, the industrial process requires data acquisition and analysis. Therefore, the key production factors must be monitored and controlled with adaptive methods. The European industry features and immense variety ranging, among many others, from automotive and mechanical / electrical engineering to chemical-pharmaceutical industry, mineral oil processing and food processing. The manufacturing processes ised are highly specialized for the respective product and thus differ as much as the products do. Consequently, the cross-industry implementation of optimization solutions is challenging, especially regarding the process control. In this context the use of AI methods is beneficial due to the method's inherent approach of learning the interrelation of inputs and outputs of a specific system. Thus, commonly developed AI methods can be fitted to a multitude of different fields, e.g. neuroscience or weather forecasting.

Project results evaluation
IMA successfully finalized the AI4DI project development of Indoor Asset Tracking system with Bluetooth technology based on the Neural Network algorithm for object or personal tracking in the indoor environments. All the data are processed locally by the AI algorithm so no sensitive information need to leave the premises.
