Hlavním badatelským cílem projektu analyzovat literární obraz panovníka a jeho konstrukci v raně novověkých literárních (i neliterárních) textech z českých zemí a Francie a metodou komparace vysledovat rozdíly a paralely mezi oběma zeměmi. Zvláštní pozornost bude věnována paralelám a rozdílům v reprezentaci panovníka v katolické a protestantské tradici a v různých typech raně novověkých monarchií
