    Digitalisation route for dimensional nanometrology

    This project aims to establish a digitalisation route for dimensional nanometrology focusing mainly on the measurement of dimensions, position, form and roughness at the micro to nano scale level. The digital traceability chain will start from the digital metre, through smart calibration samples, algorithms for automated data processing, up to providing the results to end users. Although the primary objective of this project is to focus on Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM), the developed methods will be applicable to other areas of metrology and nanometrology (e. g. , digital transformation, materials science, quantum metrology, medical imaging) and they could be used as a template when developing a digital infrastructure for other areas such as larger scale surface topography measurements using optical or tactile methods.
