Project results evaluation
The aim of the project was to research and develop new methods for dry cleaning the surfaces of library and archival objects contaminated with fine particles and nanoparticles. The specific goals of the project - to test new cleaning procedures using laser and pneumatic methods - were achieved. The newly developed restoration methods were summarized in certified methodologies and tested on samples of library materials in the semi-operational line created for cleaning library collections. Two utility models for pneumatic cleaning were constructed - an automatic stationary station and a mobile cleaning unit. The main results of the applied research will find application in restoration and conservation workshops of various memory institutions. All planned main, secondary, and other results were presented and applied. The project was fulfilled 100% in terms of its structure and the number of individual types of applied and secondary results.
