During the project there was made major progress at the Center for Advanced Functional Nanorobots in the field of nanorobot development and their applications, primarily in biomedicine and the environment. Efforts have been focused on innovations in the field of materials, preparation methods and functional applications of nanorobots and a number of key successes have been achieved. In the field of biomedical applications, research was mainly focused on drug delivery and detection of various substances in biological systems. In the field of environmental applications, the research focused on the conversion of light into movement based on Au/Ag, on the development of microrobots based on the photocatalytic generation of ion gradients, microrobots based on ZnO and other microrobots/nanorobots, e.g. for the sorption of heavy metals and pesticides, for the decomposition of microplastics or removing pollutants during water treatment.
