Cílem projektu je řešení problémů strukturních studií s vysokým rozlišením na živých buňkách a současně vzdělávání nové generace českých a zahraničních studentů. Budou prozkoumány dosud neznámé hranice fotonové fyziky s cílem získat průlomové výsledky v biologii, chemii a fyzice. Bude vybudováno mezioborové Centrum excelence zaměřené na využití evropského centra Extreme Light Infrastructure.

Project results evaluation
During the project there was established an excellent scientific team, completed the infrastructure and acquired planned instruments and equipment necessary for the ELI-BL biolab. In the field of international cooperation development, the project team has established long-term cooperation with several institutions and continues to develop it. The project has contributed to the use of the highly developed fields of plasma physics and high-energy lasers in other related fields of physics, chemistry and biology. The unique capabilities of ELI-BL expand the possibilities for studying biomolecular interactions, the structure of living cells, organelles and viruses, and the study of photon-matter interaction in the regime of intense high-frequency photon fields, and offer significant potential not only in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.
