Project enabled research and transfer of knowledge in the areas of genetics and reproductive physiology of fish and biotechnology of their germ cells into practice in order to maintain fish biodiversity, create an internationally recognized gene bank and improve the competitiveness of European aquaculture with a significant share of the Czech Republic. Biodiversity and the development of competitive freshwater aquaculture have been preserved thanks to the use of a multidisciplinary approach with the help of the knowledge of the current scientific research directions developed at the individual workplaces of the center. The research topic was moved to the pre-application phase so that the achieved results could be used in practice. The project made it possible to modernize individual workplaces by investing in high-end equipment, and the quality of education and research and development in areas related to environmental support increased.
