The internship in the Department of Neurophysiology of Memory at the Institute of Physiology CAS provided a valuable resource for a solid foreign postdoctoral fellow with international scientific experience who contributed to the development of optogenetics, a highly innovative experimental approach used to selectively influence neuronal activity and subsequent behavioral and electrophysiological measurements. The work of the international researcher has focused in particular on the PV+ role of pFC-vHipp circuits underlying cognitive inflexibility. The fellowship had several significant benefits for the department. It allowed the implementation of a highly informative method with detailed insight and the acquisition of new know-how. Important benefit is the scientific internationalization of the department and the implementation and transfer of cutting-edge methodologies with the promise of achieving future excellent scientific results.
