Project results evaluation
The aim of the project was to use international multidisciplinary collaboration to accelerate research into the possibilities of emerging new fiber biomaterials, in this case waste bast fiber from oil flax stalks, which is also available in our climatic conditions, emerging bio-polyamide production (DSM-Holland) and their mixtures. Both the effective separation of flax fiber and the modification of its properties (including enzymatic support of dew) were solved as well as other stages leading to the processability of individual components (flax, bioPA) and their blending for the production of yarns for subsequent use in flat textiles, including carpets . This was followed by research into upgrading procedures to ensure the aesthetic and utility properties of new textile structures. The project output is: 2x functional sample, 2x verified technology
