Project results evaluation
The aim of the project was to produce one piece of the prototype "Automatic rolling bands for saw bands". A prototype device with two linear 2D sensors that sense the plane and stress across the entire width of the saw blade was manufactured and tested. The control system then evaluates the deviations from the required values and determines for each location the magnitude of the action of the rolling rolls and the mechanism of the straightening rollers as the saw belt passes through the rolling and straightening head. With this operation, the saw blade is rolled to the necessary extent and its damaged areas are straightened out. The calculation of values in the control system is based on experience and data collection obtained from the rolling of previous strips. The solution also presupposes a certain degree of artificial intelligence. With the new device, the rolling of saw bands with a high quality is achieved in a much shorter time.
