Project results evaluation
Three planned incoming mobilities were successfully completed within the project. Part of the research focused on the possibilities of using gold nanoparticles as drug carriers in cancer treatment in order to improve the effectiveness of drugs and reduce the development of drug resistance. Another part of the research focused on studying the mechanism by which selected bacteria (Salmonella enterica and Bordetella pertussis) affect the host environment and cause infection. And the topic of the third mobility was the molecular regulation of domoic acid synthesis, a dangerous neurotoxin produced by the diatom Pseudo-nitzschia that causes poisoning in marine organisms and humans.
