New technology for diagnostics of the selected pollutants in environment

Project goals

The aim of the project is to develop a new diagnostic technology for detection of some selected environmental contaminants and to introduce into production a diagnostic tool based on this new technology. This tool will be proposed as a robust, semi-quantitative, rapid and easy to be performed immunochemical test. The major attention will be focused on pesticide contaminants (e.g. methylcarbamate pesticides, atrazin, etc.) and industrial contaminants (e.g. polyaromatic hydrocarbons). The principle of thenew technology will be employment of antibodies as biospecific agents and of nanoparticles as suitable signal substances for contaminant detection in a simple and rapid test. This will be based on interaction between detected contaminant and nanoparticle-labeled agent during capillar migration while flowing over a porous membrane strip, whereas at its end the agent which did not react will be biospecifically captured in the testing zone.

    Nové technologie pro diagnostiku vybraných polutantů v životním prostředí

    Předmětem projektu je vyvinutí nové technologie diagnostického postupu detekce několika vybraných kontaminantů životního prostředí a zavedení do výroby diagnostického nástroje využívajícího tuto novou technologii.Tento nástroj bude navržen jako robustní,semikvantitativní, rychlý a snadno proveditelný imunochemický test.Hlavní pozornost bude upřena na kontaminanty ze skupiny pesticidů (jako např. methylkarbamátové pesticidy, atrazin, apod.) a průmyslové kontaminanty (např. polyaromatické uhlovodíky).Podstatou nové technologie bude použití protilátek jako biospecifického činidla a nanočástic jako vhodné signální látky k detekci kontaminantu v jednoduchém a rychlém testu. Ten bude spočívat v interakci detekovaného kontaminantu a činidla označeného nanočásticí během kapilární migrace při podélném toku proužkem porézní membrány, přičemž na jejím konci bude nezreagované činidlo biospecificky zachyceno v testovací zóně.
