Bioremediation and biotransformation of the diffuse pollution by persistent organic pollutants in agriculture land (in situ) and solid waste.

Project goals

The aim of the project proposal is research of bioengineering conditions for biodegradation and biotransformation of selected POPs as well as of the effect of microbial population structure upon biodegradation of POPs. The study of metabolite formation and their toxicity will be performed using chemical analysis and ecotoxicity testing. The research will be aimed to determination of correlation between environmental conditions and metabolite formation, too. The selection of POP degraders will be performed. The conditions for their employment during practical treatment of soil in situ will be determined. The physiological characteristic of selected strains will be study and used for determination of limiting bioengineering parameters for their use. These findings are crucial for application of this innovation technology.

    Bioremediace a biotransformace difúzního znečištění perzistentními organickými polutanty v zemědělských půdách in situ a pevných odpadech.

    Cílem projektu je výzkum bioinženýrských podmínek biodegradace a biotransformace vybraných POP, vlivu struktury mikrobiální populace na biodegradaci vybraných POP, studium tvorby metabolitů v průběhu biologického odbourávání a výzkum jejich kvality pomocí chemické analýzy a testy ekotoxicity. Výzkum bude zaměřen i na stanovení korelace mezi vnějšími podmínkami a tvorbou metabolitů, které mohou být toxické nebo mít nebezpečné vlastnosti pro životní prostředí. V průběhu výzkumu budou izolovány a vybrány bakteriální kmeny s vysokou biodegradační aktivitou k cílovým polutantům a budou stanoveny podmínky jejich využití pro podporu biodegradace cílových polutantů in situ. V této části práce bude výzkum zaměřen i na zjištění fyziologických vlastností vybraných kmenů, aby bylo možné posoudit jejich praktické využití a stanovit mezní bioinženýrské parametry pro praktickou aplikaci. Tento výstup je klíčový, pro využití inovační technologie při eliminaci rozptýleného znečištění.
