Project results evaluation
It can be stated that the project succeeded according to the assignment, i.e. despite partial delays in the implementation of the project, all planned results and stages were met. The project achieved very high-quality professional results. The solution of this project contributed to the goal of the program with new and original results suitable for immediate implementation. The research team has experience in the production of nonwoven textiles using electrostatic spinning on industrial machines, which it successfully used in the development of chitosan fibers with an added bioactive substance. A minor shortcoming, probably due to the time-consuming nature of the experiments, is the insufficiently optimized composition of the spinning solution. However, physical and biological tests of the nanofiber layer were performed at a high level. The results confirmed the antiviral effect against the herpes virus, as well as the antibacterial and healing effect on wounds after insect bites.
