New generation sandwich constructions for increasing the safety of critical infrastructure objects

Cílem projektu je zavedení vysoce výkonné sendvičové konstrukce poskytující různou úroveň balistické ochrany do praxe a tím zvýšit odolnost stávající kritické infrastruktury (KI) a zabezpečit ochranu života a zdraví osob pohybujících se v jejím okolí. Zvýšení odolnosti KI lze částečně dosáhnout pomocí přídavných vrstev, které se aplikují přímo na stávající konstrukci nebo za pomocí použití celých sendvičových konstrukcí nové generace, skládající se nejmodernějších materiálů vyvíjených na poli obranných a ochranných konstrukcí. Cílem projektu je vedle poskytnutí balistické odolnosti také absolutně potlačit jakékoli odražení nebo vyražení materiálu ze zadní nebo přední strany sendvičového panelu a dosáhnout tak 100 % zastavovacího efektu s 0% sekundárních fragmentů.

Project results evaluation
During the evaluated period of the project, its proposed objectives were implemented at the required professional level. The evaluated project combined experimental research and numerical modeling and represents a suitable connection between a research organization and industrial enterprises in applied research. The project consortium demonstrated the necessary expertise to solve the defined tasks, individual partners appropriately complemented each other with their focus and used the appropriate infrastructure in the solution. The developed sandwich structures will provide ballistic protection in practice, thereby increasing the resistance of the existing critical infrastructure and ensuring the protection of the health and life of people who may be present in its vicinity. The project is of good quality. The opposing committee agreed that the project succeeded according to the terms of reference.
