Superconductiong power transformer with superconductiong fault current limiter
Project goals
The aim of the project is design, construction and testing of the prototype of 10kVA-class transformer with winding made from high-temperature superconductor (HTS), the HTS fault current limiter and the cryosystem with subcooled liquid nitrogen. Further,we will get comparison between the measured values and theoretical calculations and experience with design and operation. This will help to design and manufacture more powerful devices in future. The 1 MVA class HTS transformers are expected to be used in electric locomotives. Up to 8% of electricity generated by power plants is now lost in the process of electricity delivery. Power transformers account for one-half of this loss, and superconducting materials and products can cut that loss by half, thusreducing the amount of fuel burned to generate electricity and correspondingly reducing the cost of electric power and its affect on the environment. The new technology has the potential to save a lot of money in electricity costs. Further, the HTS

Supravodivý výkonový transformátor se supravodivým omezovačem zkratového proudu
