Development of scale continuum thermodynamics with applications in biology and biomechanics.

Project goals

The project is aimed at the further development of scale continuum thermodynamics for a consistent thermodynamic description of living tissues. The purpose is a formation of realistic continuum models of some tissues for the use in biomechanics (e.g. thesmooth muscle) and finding out deeper connections between hierarchically arranged structures in living tissues and scale approaches of recent physics.

Rozvoj škálové kontinuální termodynamiky s aplikacemi v biologii a biomechanice.

  • Project results evaluation

We developed scale approach methods in continuum thermomechanics. Special emphasis was laid on description of great deformations of materials, where the effect of microstructure was involved. Applying the scale approach, we obtained an hyperelastic model
