Uncatalyzed Hydrosilylations Induced by N→Si Coordination

Project goals

This project is focused on the synthesis and isolation of N→Si intramolecularly coordinated silanes containing either monoanionic N,C,N- and C,N-chelating ligands L1-6 or neutral N,N-chelating ligands L7-12 with C=N imine functional group. The presence of N→Si intramolecular and intermolecular coordination in the above mentioned complexes should activate Si-H fragment to induce the spontaneous hydrosilylation of the C=N imine moiety. The project is focused on the ability answer the question how to activate Si-H fragment, how to tune the nature of Si-H bond, how to tune the speed rate of uncatalyzed hydrosilylations and whether we are able to direct selectivity of those processes. The goal of the project is also to extent investigation towards uncatalyzed hydrometallation reactions in organometallic hydrides of 14 group elements.

  • Annotation in Czech

Přítomnost N→Si intra a intermolekulární koordinace v těchto sloučeninách může aktivovat Si-H fragment a tím indukovat spontální hydrosilylaci C=N iminové skupiny. Redukce iminové skupiny může být ovlivněna několika faktory, a proto je projekt navržen tak, aby sledoval možnost aktivace Si-H fragmentu, možnost ovlivnění polarity vazby Si-H bond, možnost ovlivnění rychlosti a selektivity nekatalyzované hydrosilylace. Cílem tohoto projektu je také rozšíření výzkumu redukcí iminové skupiny nekatalyzovanými hydrometalačními reakcemi organokovových hydridů těžších prvků 14 skupiny.
