Anthropological Suppositions of Carl Schmitt´s Political Thoughts
Project goals
The essence of the project is the analysis and interpretation of the anthropological assumptions of the political thought of Carl Schmitt. His political thinking is currently interpreted primarily in terms of political theology, theory of the political and the systematic place of violence. His anthropological starting points have received little attention, although it can be assumed that this is a basic motif, from whose perspective the before mentioned great themes can be better understood. The proposal predicts that Schmitt’s anthropology can be explicated and interpreted by the understanding that it is not only anti-modern, but also inspired by Christian thinking. At the same time, however, Schmitt was aware that a simple return to Christian anthropological and philosophical thinking was not possible in the 20th century. Schmitt’s theory of the political, in accordance with political theology (as theories of secularization of originally theological concepts in political thinking) represents his politico-philosophical alternative to modern rationalist thinking.

Podstatou grantového pojektu je analýza a interpretace antropologických předpokladů politického myšlení Carla Schmitta. Schmittovo politické myšlení je v současnosti interpretováno především z hlediska politické theologie, teorie politična a systematického místa násilí. Antropologickým východiskům byla prozatím věnována jen malá pozornost, i když lze předpokládat, že se jedná o motiv základní, z jehož perspektivy lze politické theologii, teorii politična i systematické funkci násilí lépe porozumět. Návrh výzkumu předpokládá, že Schmittovu antropologii lze nelézt a interpretovat s tím, že je nejen anti-moderní, ale také inspirovaná křesťanským myšlením. Zároveň si je ale Schmitt vědom toho, že jednoduchý návrat k křesťanskému antropologickému a filosofickému myšlení není ve 20. století možný. Schmittova teorie politična tak ve shodě s politickou theologií jakožto teorií sekularizace původně theologických pojmů v politickém myšlení představuje jeho politicko-filosofickou (theologickou) alternativu k modernímu převážně racionalistickému myšlení.
