Collective phenomena in interacting many-body systems
Project goals
The project is focused on theoretical research of collective aspects of dynamics in interacting many-body systems (atomic nuclei, atomic clusters, mesoscopic structures etc.). It consists of three main topics: [A] Quantum phase transitions in many-body systems - the study of critical behaviors for excited states in systems that exhibit the 1st and 2nd order quantum phase transition, application of methods from quantum information theory. [B] Order-to-chaos transition in complex quantum systems - quantumsignatures of chaos in collective many-body models, the origin of regular dynamics, quantum chaos and the random matrix theory. [C] Microscopic description of collective motions in atomic nuclei - the use of the density functional formalism and the equation-of-motion model in the analysis of collective modes of dynamics in heavy nuclei (low lying states and giant resonances).
