Chiral model for hadron interactions

Project goals

The project aims at theoretical description of hadron interactions at low energies, specifically at meson interactions with nucleons, production of strange particles and at elementary processes involving strange particles. The solution of our tasks willbe based on effective separable potentials derived from the chiral Lagrangian of meson-baryon interactions. The model has already been successfully applied in calculations of reaction cross sections and other characteristics of various hadron processes.We intend to extend and modify significantly the present chiral model in various ways and apply it to interactions of kaons and eta mesons with nucleons and nuclei. We also aim at developing a microscopic model of strangeness production in meson-baryon and nucleon-nucleon processes and calculate the cross sections of relevant reactions.
