Developing a Theory of Social Work to Support Restorative Potential in the Transformation of Antisocial Behaviour in Institutionalised Youth
Annotation in Czech
This research focuses on formulating a new social work theory that elucidates the mechanisms influencing antisocial behavior in young people with incarcerated parents through the previously undefined concept of restorative potential. Restorative potential offers an innovative perspective on the transformation process from antisocial to prosocial behavior, emphasizing the individual's ability to take responsibility for their actions, restore disrupted relationships, and reintegrate into society. This concept is grounded in the integration of insights from psychology, social work, and criminology, utilizing the capability approach to analyze how personal, social, and structural factors affect the ability of young people with delinquent histories to mobilize their restorative potential and transition to prosocial behavior. The objective is to develop a theoretical framework that provides a conceptual foundation for future empirical studies and enhances scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying the transformation of antisocial behavior in this group of youths.
