Two Genres and Their Worlds in the Context of Czech Literature
Project goals
The aim is to investigate the applicability of the theory of fictional worlds (TFW) to an analysis of particular texts and genres of Czech literature. The project consists of two parts: in the first part I will investigate the tools which the theory offers for an inquiry of narrative texts; in the second part, I will apply these devices to particular genres. TFW has established its own devices by treating mental products of the acts of creating and recepting of narrative texts as structured worlds; thusthe theory can approach these worlds with tools developed in other fields than in poetics, for example in philosophy, semantics and logic. As a result the theory provides us with analyses and typologies and comarisons of fictional worlds. The tools reached will be used for an analysis of two genres in Czech literature - social realistic novels and sci-fi novels. Dva žánry a jejich světy v kontextu české literatury

Cílem je analyzovat s jakými výsledky je teorie fikčních světů (TSF) aplikovatelná na rozbor dvou žánrů české literatury. Projekt se skládá ze dvou částí: v první prozkoumám a porovnám prostředky a strategie, které tato teorie nabízí k uchopení narativních textů, zatímco v druhé použiji tyto prostředky k analýze konkrétních žánrů. TFS během tří desetiletí ustavila vlastní specifické přístupy ke zkoumání entit, které vznikají během aktů kreace a recepce fikčních textů, jakožto ke specificky strukturovaným světům. Díky tomu využívá TFS termíny a strategie z jiných vědních odvětví než je klasická teorie literatury, např. z filosofie, sémantiky či teorie akce. Tyto návrhy ústí ve specifický průzkum strukturace fikčních světů, jejich typologii a komparaci.Tyto nástroje použiji k analýze dvou žánrů - socialisticky realistického románu a meziválečné sci-fi.
