V projektu budou studovány vybrané latinské spisy, které byly klíčové pro rozvoj astronomie od pozdní antiky přes středověk až po raný novověk. Tyto texty budou interpretovány a zpřístupněny českým historikům vědy formou odborných studií, edic a důkladně komentovaných překladů. Pozornost bude soustředěna především na vývoj představ o stálicích od Hyginovy práce až po první teleskopická pozorování Galilea Galileiho a Johanna Keplera.

Project results evaluation
The aim of the project was fulfilled: The basic texts on knowledge of celestial sphere from the antiquity to the early modern epoch were published in the Czech commented translations. The results were regularly presented at domestic and international conferences and in peer-reviewed studies as well.
