Biostratigraphy and autecology of Lower Carboniferous Trilobites from the Tournaisian-Viséan interval in the Mokrá quarry near Brno
Project goals
The main goal of the project is the ecologic and systematic study of newly found trilobite assemblage in shales of Březina formation and its stratigraphical relation to conodont and foraminiferal fauna in profiles of the Mokrá quarry. The study of feeding habitat of trilobites will be correlated with conodont biofacies and sedimentological interpretation of the environment based on detailled bed-by-bed logging and the study of microfacies. Results of conodont and foraminifer studies will consequentlyhelp to establish fine biostratigraphic calibration of the occurences of trilobite taxa in profiles of the Mokrá quarry.

Biostratigrafie a autekologie spodnokarbonských trilobitů z intervalu tournai-visé z Mokré u Brna
Annotation in Czech
Dosud neexistuje žádná komplexní práce o detailním biostratigrafickém rozsahu a autekologii karbonských trilobitů z území Moravy. Hlavním cílem navrhovaného grantového projektu bude kalibrace biostratigrafického rozsahu trilobitových taxonů ve spodnokarbonských sedimentech lomu Mokrá u Brna na základě souběžného studia foraminiferové a konodontové fauny. Hlavním výstupem bude potom korelace výskytů trilobitů se standardní konodontovou a foraminiferovou zonací. Na základě detailního studia jednotlivýchexoskeletonů trilobitů bude rovněž interpretován způsobu získávání jejich potravy a tyto údaje budou korelovány s interpretací prostředí založenou na sedimentologickém studiu vápenců (podrobný makroskopický popis sedimentů, mikrofaciální studium vápenců, konodontové biofacie).
