Characterization of nanoparticles by capillary electrophoresis

Project goals

The aim of this project is to contribute to the fundamental description of separation processes in analysis of nanoparticles by capillary electrophoresis. During this project, following tasks will be studied: Characterization of surface chemistry of nanoparticles within different capillary electrophoresis conditions (especially characterization of surface chemistry equilibria), study of interactions between nanoparticles and model ions, description of the interactions in the view of stoichiometry, and characterization of interactions between nanoparticles and model cellular-like systems as model proteins, nucleic acids, and cells.

    Charakterizace nanočástic kapilární elektroforézou

  • Annotation in Czech

Cílem tohoto projektu je přispět k základnímu popisu separačních procesů v oblasti analýzy nanočástic kapilární elektroforézou. V rámci tohoto projektu budou studovány zejména následující oblasti: charakterizace povrchové chemie nanočástic v různých běžných elektroforetických podmínkách (především rovnováhy v oboru povrchové chemie nanočástic), studium interakcí nanočástic a modelových iontů, popis interakcí z pohledu stechiometrie, charakterizace interakcí nanočástic a modelových systémů podobných buňkám (jako jsou modelové proteiny nebo nukleové kyseliny) a interakcí s buňkami.

  • Project results evaluation

The project has provided the idea of behaviour of nanomaterials under high voltage conditions. It was proved that the main factor influencing the behaviour is the agrregation of nanoparticles. The results obtained during project execution were presented by four publications in impacted journals (2x J. Sep. Sci, 1x J.Chromatogr. A a 1x Chem. Pap.) as well as at international conferences.
