Simulations of the DD fusion reaction

Project goals

Numerical simulations of beam-target interaction during DD reaction will be treated in frame of the proposed project. The main objective of the project will be the estimation of the energy released by various instabilities (beam, parametric, convective,..). In numerical simulations will be PIC-MC method used. These simulations will be appended by theoretical analysis of the dispersion relation of the types of instabilities considered. The Fokker-Planck equation will be solved by perturbation analysis inthe stable region, in the unstable region the nonlinear analysis and numerical simulations will be carried out. The plasma parameter's regions, in which intensive thermalization of the beam occurs will be predicted. These regions are interesting from the thermonuclear fusion heating-up point of view. Radiation channels of energy release from fusion pinch plasma will be analyzed (synchrotron, bremsstrahlung and recombination).

  • Annotation in Czech

V rámci projektu bude prováděna numerická simulace interakce svazku s terčem při DD reakci. Cílem výpočtu bude zejména odhadnout energii uvolněnou různými nestabilitami (dvousvazková, parametrická, konvektivní, ...). Numerické simulace budou prováděny PIC?MC metodami a doplněny teoretickým rozborem disperzních relací daných typů nestabilit. Dále budou analyzovány zářivé kanály odvodu energie z fúzního pinčového plazmatu, zejména synchrotonního, brzdného a rekombinačního.

  • Project results evaluation

PIC program package for beam-target interaction was developed. The same situation was solved from MHD and Fokker-Planck equations. All approaches fixed that magnetic field influences termalization. Results were compared with PF1000 and S300 experiments.
