Monograph of European heterocytous cyanobacteria.
Project goals
Modern monographs of coccoid and trichal cyanobacteria were edited in last years in editorial house Elsevier. This compedium contains review of diversity of all European cyanobacterial taxa and reviews of genera over the world (see citations). The present grant should support the elaboration of the third (last) part of this monographic series (containing heterocytous genera, which represent one monophyletic cluster). The monograph is urgent in respect to numerous changes based on molecular studies, andresulting from modern polyphasic evaluation of cyanobacterial diversity. The authors participated in numerous studies of this revision. The edition is provided in the frame of the compendium Süsswasserflora von Mitteleuropa (Elsevier), but without any financial support.

Monografické zpracování diverzity evropských heterocytózních cyanobakterií.

V minulých letech byly vypracovány a vydány knižně monografie kokálních a primitivních trichálních sinic (cyanobakterií) Evropy s přehledem světové diverzity jednotlivých rodů (viz citace). Předkládaný grant má umožnit zpracování a přípravu rukopisu třetí (závěrečné) části. Monografické zpracování této skupiny je urgentní vzhledem k novým poznatkům vyplývajícím z molekulárního a polyfazického metodického přístupu. Navrhovatelé grantu se podíleli intenzivně na moderní revizi celé skupiny. Na základě těchto dat je nutno přehodnotit taxonomickou klasifikaci a podat ucelený přehled v podobě souborného zpracování. Vydání této třetí části monografie je zajištěno v rámci kompendia Süsswasserflora von Mitteleuropa (Elsevier), avšak bez jiné finanční podpory.

Numerous genera (Aphanizomenon, Anabaena, Cylindrospermum and others) were revised according to complex evaluation. Results were published or submitted in form of manuscripts. Main part of the monograph was finished and whole documentation was prepared.
