The role of Christian and Muslim immigrants' religion in relation to a liberal State
Project goals
The aim of the three-year project The role of Christian and Muslim immigrants' religion in relation to a liberal State is to examine the integrating role of Eastern Orthodox and Greek Orthodox religion, and Islam, in the migration process, primarily in the Czech Republic, considered in the European context. An important part of the project is an analysis of the stances of Eastern Orthodox, Greek Orthodox and Muslim immigrants towards the fact that the government is not responsible for adoption of theirreligious creed and the ensuing ethic and legal norms in the receiving country. The criterion for the inclusion of these religions in the project is their presence in different groups of immigrants in the Czech Republic and their understanding of the relation between religion and the State, which differs from the model used in central and western Europe (separation of Church and State).

Tříletý projekt s názvem "Role náboženství křesťanských a muslimských migrantů ve vztahu k liberálnímu státu" si klade za cíl zkoumat integrační roli pravoslaví, řecko-katolictví a islámu v migračním procesu, a to primárně v České republice s přihlédnutím k evropskému kontextu. Důležitá bude analýza postojů pravoslavné, řecko-katolické a islámské migrace k faktu, že v místě imigrace stát není zodpovědný za prosazování jejich náboženského přesvědčení ? a z něho vyplývajících etických či právních norem. Kritériem výběru těchto náboženství do projektu je jejich přítomnost v různých migračních skupinách na území České republiky a zároveň jejich chápání vztahu mezi náboženstvím a státem, které se liší od modelu uplatňovaného ve střední a západní Evropě (odluka státu a církve).
