Opto-electronic and material properties of organic photovoltaic devices correlated by specialized scanning probe techniques
Project goals
Aim of the project is to actively participate to the COST Action MP1307 and to follow its targets: formation of a highly interdisciplinary network of scientific laboratories for identification and reduction of degradation processes in organic photovoltaic cells. Our approach to participate is the use of advanced correlated scanning probe techniques (Kelvin probe force microscopy, Conductive atomic force microscopy) to characterize the opto-electronic properties of photovoltaic devices prepared by the collaborating MP1307 participants under defined illumination.

Project results evaluation
In the frame LD 15013 project degradation of materials for organic photovoltaics were studied. Evolution of SPV in time was observed and compared on blend organic films. Resistivity of substrate materials to proton irradiation was characterized. Results were summarized in two journal papers (AIP Advances, Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells) and presented on several international conferences.
