Project results evaluation
Finished project aimed at a next generation sequencing (NGS) of viruses and viroids infecting grapevines to achieve knowledge about presence of those pathogens. Results of sequencing were published in 2016 in the PLoS One journal, thus reaching planned Result V001 („Study the spectrum of viruses infecting grapevines in the Czech Republic). Subsequent survey of distribution was published as a paper of Eichmeier et al., 2016 as well as a specialized map (Komínková and Komínek, 2017), thus reaching planned Result V002 („Research on distribution on newly detected viruses and viroids in the Czech Republic). In 2017, NGS analyses was conducted, using libraries of small RNA from grapevine plants cv. Rheinriesling, sanitated in vitro using Ribavirin. Non-sanitated plants of the same cultivar were used for comparison. This accomplished planned Result V003 („Using of NGS technology in sanitation of propagation material of grapevine“).
