Biocompatibilization and Targeting of Nanoparticles for Diagnostic and Therapeutic Applications
Project goals
The objective of project is i) design and preparation of a new biocompatible surfaces on nanoparticles (virus-like capsids, fluorescence nanodiamonds, magnetic nanoparticles), ii) development of synthetic methodology for their funcionalization by targeting structures, and iii) in vitro (cell lines) and in vivo (biodistribution, toxicology and pharmacokinetics in mammals) biological testing of these nanoparticles.

Project results evaluation
New highly biocompatible nanoparticles based on nanodiamond core were prepared. The were coated either by silicagel or hydrophillic polymer films. These nanoparticles were modified by targeting molecules for cancer cells. The results were published in prestigious journals Small and ChemPlusChem.
