Project results evaluation
The outcome of the project has demonstrated the stabilit of the transgenic plum HoneySweet resistance against plum pox virus (ppv) through the analysis nof viru titre using RT-Qpcr and analysis of small RNAs using nxt generation sequencing (NGS). The low level of virus titre and abundance of the induction of the 21nt, 22nt a 24nt siRNA (vsRNA) were demonstrating the resistance based on RNA silencing even in the case of strong infectious pressure of the virus.
