    Prof. Guillermo Contreras has developed the involvement of the Faculty of Nuclear Physics and Engineering into CERN experiments, introduced original topic of ultraperipheral collisions and acted as convenor of the European network SaporeGravis (FP7). He has built a team at the Faculty, where he became a sought-after lecturer and supervisor. Later he become convenor of PWG-UD and PAG-Luminosity and members of his team became involved at similar level (M. Brož and J. Adam). The team published 16 journal articles, 12 proceedings contributions and 10 outreach papers.
