Project goals

Intensive basic research in theoretical computer science, namely in the areas that make use of discrete mathematical methods, including applications. Main subjects will include design and analysis of discrete algorithms,computational complexity, computational geometry, mathematical logic and mathematical foundations of computer science, structural issues of computer science and computer science aspects of combinatorics, geometry and topology.From the organizational point of view the project will benefitfrom the internationa centre DIMATIA at Charles University. One of the main goals is preparation of young researchers.

Jedná se především o navrhování a analýzu diskrétních algoritmů,výpočetní složitost, výpočetní geometrii, matematickou logiku a matematické základy informatiky, strukturální otázky informatiky, informatické aspekty kombinatoriky, geometrie a topologie.Po organizační stránce bude projekt vycházet z činnosti mezinárodního centra DIMATIA na MFF UK. Hlavní důraz bude kladen nazapojení a výchovu mladých vědeckých pracovníků.
