"Předmětem projektu je realizace výzkumné agendy Centra orientované převážně na základní výzkum a doplňkově na výzkum aplikovaný. Takto koncipovaný předmět projektu ALGATECH plus zásadním způsobem podpoří udržitelnost NC a bude tak možno plnohodnotně následovat účel zřízení Centra jako takového, a především zabezpečit jeho provozní rozvoj. Výzkumná agenda projektu ALGATECH plus bude členěna do vzájemně provázaných výzkumných programů (VP), které definují pracovní balíčky (WP) jak základního, tak aplikovaného výzkumu. Nedílnou součástí výzkumných programů zajišťovaných a garantovaných ze strany jednotlivých laboratoří bude rozsáhlá mezinárodní spolupráce, spolupráce s firmami v aplikovaném výzkumu a podpora mobility výzkumných pracovníků a studentů. Tím bude zajištěno efektivní využívání stávající infrastruktury, která byla pořízena v rámci projektu OP VaVpI. Hlavním předmětem projektu je tedy provádění výzkumně-vývojových činností s níže uvedeným odborným zaměřením v oblasti základního (WP 01 až WP 04) a v oblasti aplikovaného (WP 05 až WP 08) výzkumu."

Project results evaluation
The workplace of the Institute of Microbiology AS CR, v. v. i. - ALGATECH Center, implemented the project of the National Sustainability Program between 2015-2019 and with the support of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports was supported by more than CZK 114 million. During this time, the Center has managed to increase its total employment by almost 20%, carried out numerous reconstructions of the area, built a new accomodation facility for students and purchase a necessary instrument equipement. The Center also succeeded in obtaining national and international projects. We are currently working on 13 national and 3 international projects, and we are preparing for the highly prestigious ERC project that starts in April 2020. 159 impacted publications, 11 chapters in books and 5 national patents were created. The Center cooperates both within Europe (especially Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Spain and Italy) and the world (Israel, Brazil, USA, China, Kazakhstan or Japan).
