Application of the Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Spectroscopy for the study of atomic surface strutures

Project goals

The cooperation is aimed at the application of the scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy for the study of periodic atomic structures of surfaces and superstructures studied in Vienna (e.g. Pd-V alloys in conjunction with adsorption of CO and O2gases) and in Brno (e.g. Ga on Si and other substrates). To meet these objectives, both participants will pay short exchange visits, and 3 Czech research workers, 1 Czech PhD student, and 1 Austrian PhD student will take part in study periods at their project partners.
