Vědeckým cílem projektu je pokročit ve stanovení struktury mutantů myoglobinu a to ve volné formě i ve formě s vázaným kofaktorem, otevřeným tetrapyrolem fykoerythrobilinem. Organizačním cílem projektu je navázat spolupráci mezi Jihočeskou univerzitou vČeských Budějovicích a Universitou Jana Keplera v Linci v oboru strukturní biologie.
