Analýza sekvence celého genomu Arabidopsis ukázala přítomnost několika homologů DNA polymeras, které jsou během replikace schopné tolerovat některá poškození DNA v bakteriích a u savců. Toto zjištění podporuje naše dřívější pozorování, že alkylační poško, zení DNA u rostlin je pravděpodobně spíše tolerováno než reparováno. Projekt je zaměřen na studium funkce klíčového enzymu polymerasy theta v diferencovaných a rostoucích tkáních Arabidopsis pomocí srovnáním divokého typu a inserčního Pol- mutanta, který, bude isolován.,

Klonován gen DNA polymerasy kappa Arabidopsis thaliana a připraveny vektroy pro jeho produkci a kompletaci v bakteriích a savčích buňkách.Získány tři T-DNA inerční linie Arabidopsis pro studium mechanismu reparace a metageneze u rostlin.
