Stimulation of cytokinin O-glucosylation led in leaves of tobacco (Plant Cell Environ 31: 341, 2008) and maize plants to symptoms of cytokinin over-production. Tassel formation was, however, in maize significantly impaired (J. Exp. Bot. 59: 2673, 2008).
